Court of Appeal decision on plans and boundaries

“On 11 May 2010, the Court of Appeal delivered judgment in Huntley v Armes [2010] EWCA Civ 396. This case concerned a discrepancy between a dimensioned conveyance plan and longstanding physical boundaries on the ground. The resolution of the issues involved a discussion of a number of elements at the heart of land law: the primacy of the conveyance, and the proper interpretation to be given to it, the important role played by evidence of physical features, and adverse possession. Guy Fetherstonhaugh QC represented the successful Respondent, together with Marc Glover.”
