London Property Law Symposium
We are hosting our London Symposium 2025, Property Litigation – The Future, on 12 February 2025 - an afternoon of talks on topical issues of property law followed by drinks and canapés.
This symposium, which is being held in the year of the hundredth anniversary of the seminal Property Law Acts of 1925, looks to the future and beyond the well-trodden 1925 legislation path. The speakers will consider entirely new areas of law, as well as those where we can expect to see significant growth and development. So, what does the future hold for property lawyers?
Topics that will be covered include:
- The Landlord and Tenant Relationship in the Green Era
- Statutory Construction
- Human rights and property statutes – an overview
- Company voluntary arrangements in a Landlord and Tenant context - A practical look at the impact of Company Voluntary Arrangements on landlords and tenants.
- Pros and cons of reform of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
Guy Fetherstonhaugh KC and Janet Bignell KC will be the joint chairs of the conference and there will be five talks with the following pairs of speakers:
- Stephen Jourdan KC and Edward Blakeney
- Caroline Shea KC and Ashpen Rajah
- Stephanie Tozer KC and Cecily Crampin
